As has been the case much of his career, Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young has been criticized and questioned this season. He may be tiring a bit of the questions.
Young, a fifth-year veteran in his second stint as the Titans‘ starter, didn’t start against the Miami Dolphins this past Sunday, then played in the second half after backup-turned starter Kerry Collins sustained a first-half calf injury.
Young had been dealing with an ankle injury much of the past month and entered the Miami game as Collins’ backup.
Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reported that Young “looked plenty healthy” against Miami, with Young practicing Wednesday and not listed on the injury report this week.
Wyatt also wrote that when asked about injuries or toughness Wednesday, Young turned “evasive.”
“I feel like I have been doing that already,” Wyatt reported Young as saying. “I want to continue to keep it up. I am excited to be back out here practicing with the guys. I am happy to be back out here, full focus, and now it is time to turn it on.”
Wyatt also reported that while Young has thrown 10 touchdowns and three interceptions this season, “He hasn’t been the same player” since sustaining knee and ankle sprains in a 30-3 victory over Jacksonville on Oct. 18.
