All of us have come in contact with the computer that seems like it is running slower than molasses. It is the worst thing to have to deal with, especially when you have a project or presentation that you really need to work on but can’t seem to get anything done because nothing loads up fast enough. Do you want to learn how to speed up your computer and save all of those hours wasted just waiting for something to happen with your computer? Then come along with me and follow these four steps.
1) First things first, let’s take a look at your computer’s control panel. Remove any programs that you do not need and send them to the trash can. A lot of them aren’t even in use, and are only there to take up space that you can free up to speed up the computer.
2) Next, if it is at all possible for you to put in a second hard drive to your computer, by all means, do it. Once you have that second hard drive, move your ‘My Documents’ folder from your C:drive to your hard drive. This will definitely help your computer’s performance because a large portion was just freed up. After you have done this, delete any files from your recycling bin that are of no use to you.
3) Install an anti virus system. This is a smart move because it will protect your computer from any harmful viruses it may come in contact with.
4) Clean your Windows registry. This is the most effective way to speed up your computer’s performance. When this registry is in any way messed up, your whole computer is bound to slow down drastically. So clean it out and always check this first when your computer is lagging.
